
Yotkom has a strong focus on regularly reaching out into the surrounding community of Northern Uganda.
Some places are isolated, transport is difficult and there are challenges getting to our facility.
This week a team of nurses and clinicians will visit 6 schools .
Their tasks include :
To deliver Vitamin A and deworming medication.
To check for undetected cases of Malaria and instigate treatment.
Look for suspected cases of Tuberculosis
Administer childhood vaccinations including HPV Cervical Cancer vaccine
Update tetanus vaccinations
Undertake health education talks, address issues of family planning , identify pregnant mothers and refer for antenatal care.

Yotkom also has a twice weekly one hour talk back FM radio broadcast with many opportunities to address preventive health issues and answer community questions.
